Bee Saving paper will help save bees from extinction

It's time to save the bees!

The number of bees on the planet is rapidly declining, and human is to blame for this. Agriculture, which uses pesticides everywhere, and growing cities have led to today's small toilers having to travel long distances in search of food. In such conditions, populations of bees are dying out, which threatens irreversible consequences of a planetary scale.

Reduction of the bee family was noted half a century ago, but the situation has sharply worsened in the last 20 years. Especially strongly the death of these insects is felt by Japan, Scotland, France, Belgium and other European countries. So, in Poland half of more than 400 kinds of bees are on the verge of disappearance. Here, without remaining indifferent, activists of City Bees joined forces with entomologists and paper producers and tried to find a non-trivial way out of the situation. As a result of painstaking work, a special biodegradable paper was created, which, having fulfilled its direct purpose, becomes a source of glucose for bees.

The range of use of such paper is very wide. It can be used for its intended purpose, as well as making packages for food, coffee cups, disposable dishes and much more. The material contains in its composition what the developers called "energy-intensive glucose", which is very attractive for bees. The structure of the paper also contains the seeds of the Phacelia Tanacetifolia - a wonderful honeycomb. In addition, the surface of the material with a special UV-paint stains that insects take for wildflowers.

The idea is - when a paper utensil or a leaflet from this paper fulfills its main task and will be thrown out, the bees will be able to "refuel" the glucose contained in it to gain strength for the journey to the next stop.

The Bee Saving Paper project already has customers. The first was the beekeeper Lukash Kachorovsky, who lost almost all his bee colonies. Now labels on his jars of honey are made from such biomaterial. They are printed with an instruction calling everyone who sees a bee in the city, to leave a piece of paper soaked in water for it - a small oasis with food and moisture.

To somebody bee tragedy may seem uninteresting - there are a lot of bugs on the planet! But the bee is a special "bug". Einstein argued that after the disappearance of these insects, humanity will not last five years. It is likely that modern people will not die out so soon, but the quality of their lives will significantly worsen. According to Greenpeace, a third of what we eat depends on pollination of plants by bees. Scientists for greater visibility have even calculated the economic component. Thus, the value of the bee's activity is estimated at almost 300 billion euros per year.

We will lose not only honey, we will have to forget about 70% of the usual plant food, as well as dairy products, since in the absence of food, cows will also disappear. Only bright memories of cotton fabrics will remain ...

People are unlikely to die out from hunger nowdays, because pigs, birds, marine inhabitans will survive, as well as crops that are pollinated by the wind. In addition, there are other pollinators on the planet - flies, bumblebees, butterflies, bats, birds. However, they do not pull the bee's "volume of work" and, moreover, nectar with pesticides will provide these creatures with an unenviable fate. Scientists are now creating bee robots, and in Japan people are using manual pollination ...

Probably, a person's life without striped hard workers is possible, but it will not be as colorful and healthy without coffee, milk, cheese, wine, fruit and cotton. Therefore, to remain indifferent is unforgivable. It is important to do what is in our power, because the slogan "Save the bees!" can turn into "Save the people!" in just few years.
